Downtown bar to close for two days

De Bier Haus
De Bier Haus Mark McKeown

Downtown Tauranga bar De Bier Haus will be closed tomorrow and Sunday after the licensee and another manager had their manager certificates suspended for allowing drunk patrons on the premises.

The Liquor Licensing Authority forced the bar to close and the licensee and another manager were forced to serve 30-day suspensions of their manager certificates between August and October.

The licensee was duty manager on a number of occasions between September and October 2011 when patrons were assessed by police as being too drunk to be on the premises.
