A Waikato man who had been on the run was found and arrested by armed police in Te Puke at the crack of dawn today.
The man, in his 30s, was wanted in relation to a violent fire arms domestic incident at Horotiu on Saturday, Waikato police district spokesman Andrew McAuley said.
The incident involved the man's pregnant partner allegedly being assaulted.
Members of Western Bay of Plenty police Armed Offenders Squad raided the Hastings St house where the man was sleeping and made the arrest about 6.30am.
Western Bay of Plenty police district Inspector Karl Wright-St Clair said the AOS assisted Ngaruawahia CIB with a search warrant at the address.
The man was taken to Hamilton after the arrest, where he is expected to face charges in relation to the assault.
