A man has been accused of setting up a false dating profile under his ex-partners name, stating she was available for "sexual liasons."

The Tauranga man accused of setting up an internet dating profile in his ex-partner's name, claiming she was available for sexual liaisons, will defend the allegation.

Sales manager Carl Sisson, 46, of Bethlehem, denied one charge each of breaching a protection order and creating a false document in Tauranga District Court yesterday.

The Crown alleges that on January 26 Sisson accessed the internet website NZ Dating.com and created a profile in the name of the complainant, which advertised her as seeking "lots of males" for sexual meetings.

The matter will be called in court on August 22.
