Bad weather not only caused havoc for Bay of Plenty home owners - it's made the search for an inaugural winner of the Lonestar Twenty20 championship a bit of a lottery.

The cancellation of fixtures at the weekend due to soaked outfields at Fergusson Park, Tauranga, has provided a number of different scenarios.

Tauranga Boys' College have guaranteed themselves a finals spot but who they play is still up in the air.

If Cadets can beat Mount Maunganui, they will take the finals spot. However, Central will be hoping Mount can steal the win. Given the Rotorua side play the Indians (who are yet to claim a win in the competition) it would mean they would jump to second spot and would play off for the silverware.

Bay of Plenty Cricket acting general manager Mark Webb said the weather had caused some havoc for cricket with the end of the season drawing near and a number of finals needing to be played - Williams Cup, Attrill Cup and McNaughton Cup to name a few.

Heading for home in the Williams Cup championship, it has become a two-horse race. Cadets and the Mount are neck and neck on 30 points with Greerton on 24, followed by East Bay United and Tauranga Boys on 18. All Te Puke, Central and Bay of Plenty Indians can do now is look back on a poor season and try to play party poopers to the top teams.

T20 points: Tauranga Boys College 10, Cadets 8, Central 8, Mount Maunganui 8, Greerton 6, Te Puke 6, East Bay United 2, BOP Indians 0.

Williams Cup points: Cadets 30, Mount Maunganui 30, Greerton 24, East Bay United 18, Tauranga Boys College 18, Te Puke 12, Central 6, BOP Indians 0.
