The Lone Star T20 competition returns for the second time this season, when round three and four is played at Ferguson Park in Tauranga on Saturday.

Popular endorsement of the T20 competition has come from the two Rotorua team captains.

Central skipper Peter Wood said a lot of the boys see it on TV so to be able to play it is a great.

"We made the final last year and are really keen to go on step further this season. However, the competition is extremely strong, with all teams extremely competitive."

"I like the competition especially because you get two games," said Bay of Plenty Indians captain Sanjay Unka.

"If you don't do well in your first game you get the opportunity to perform in the second game of the day.

"I think some of the boys are still learning to adapt to T20. There tends to be a bit of a mad rush to try and score runs and I think we still need to learn there is still time to build an innings."

Two weeks ago, Eves Realty Greerton and Te Puke finished the opening rounds of the Baywide T20 with two wins apiece. In the early afternoon start, Greerton could have a good battle on their hands when they play defending titleholders Tauranga Boys' College, with Te Puke squaring off against Rotorua Central. In other early afternoon encounters, Element IMF Cadets meet BOP Indians with East Bay United facing Mount Maunganui.

The feature match in round four should be the replay of last weeks Baywide Cup match-up between Greerton and Cadets.

In last weekend's limited over encounter Greerton posted a rare victory over their arch rivals and they will be extremely keen to make it two in a row this week.

East Bay United play Central in their later afternoon game, BOP Indians face Tauranga Boys' College while Mount Maunganui square off with long time rivals Te Puke.
