Crash between truck and bus on Hewletts Rd

UPDATE: 9:55am

A 27-year-old woman was taken to Tauranga Hospital with minor bruising following a crash on Hewletts Road this morning.

The woman was believed to be the driver of a van that suffered frontal damage in the crash.

Banked-up traffic has now been cleared from Hewletts Road and a bus involved in the accident has been towed away.

EARLIER:

Emergency services are at Mount Maunganui where a logging truck, a Bay Hopper Bus and two passenger vehicles are involved in a crash.

The bus has children onboard and its front window is shattered.

Fire services, police and ambulance are attending.

No serious injuries have been reported.

Traffic is backed up on Hewletts Rd and along the Harbour Brigde.
