Outburst after sentencing convicted paedophile
Convicted paedophile Trevor Hall has been sentenced to one year's home detention in Tauranga District Court this morning.
The sentence prompted an outburst from the public gallery while friends and family of the victim are currently patrolling around the courtroom, waiting for Hall to leave.
Hall's offending occurred after he met a woman and her 7-year-old daughter through the Salvation Army in Whakatane.
The Salvation Army did not know he had been deported from Australia more than a decade earlier having spent 17 months in a Queensland jail for sexually abusing a child.
