Police say the road will be cleared and both lanes open within ten minutes.

 

UPDATED 1:45pm

Police and firefighters remain on the scene where a concrete truck rolled earlier.

The south bound lane remains closed and firefighters are directing the traffic, which has banked up in both directions.

A crane is being used to move the truck off the road.

It is believed that two people were in the truck when it rolled, however there are no reports of injuries.

 

EARLIER:

Emergency services are heading to the scene of a concrete truck crash on State Highway 2 near Whakamarama.

A police Northern Communictions Centre spokesperson said there had been reports of a concrete truck crash on State Highway 2 near Turner Rd and Wainui South Rd.

There were reports the truck may have rolled.

There are no reports of injury but the truck is believed to be blocking one lane.

Police, St John and the fire service have been called.
