A normal start to the school year is expected at Tauranga's Bethlehem College today.

It comes two weeks to the day after a fatal road crash that killed three members of a school mission to Kenya.

Brian and Grace Johnston, and past pupil Caitlin Dickson, died when the van they were travelling in rolled off a road on January 15.

Principal Eoin Crosbie says the school will get through as a community.

"We'll do a number of things with our school to help work through this as a school community and translate from this into the school year and move on," he said.

Thousands turned out last week to funerals for the three killed.
