Chlorine spill shuts down Bay pool complex

A Bay of Plenty pool complex has been closed due to a spill of 1200 litres of chlorine.

Fire services were called to Maurie Kjar Memorial Swimming Pool Complex in Plunket St at 7.30am today after the chlorine spillage into an enclosed area.

A crew from Rotorua was attending and a another tanker were attending the scene.

A fire communications spokesman said the cause of the spill was unknown at this stage.
