Child playing with matches sets bed on fire
A family narrowly escaped disaster after a child set a bed on fire.
A spokesperson for the Greerton Fire Service said the brigade were called to a the house on Coopers Rd, Gate Pa about 11.30am today.
"That was a single bed on fire. A little kid playing with some matches. There was nothing much in the way of damage apart from the bed," he said.
"The home owners had pretty much put it out before we got there."
Firefighters helped air the house out.
