A new charity offering free meals to new mums and families struggling with illness is set to launch in Tauranga.

Bellyful is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers precooked meals to families with new babies and families with critically or terminally ill immediate family members. There are 16 branches throughout New Zealand.

A Bellyful spokesperson said the organisation was not a foodbank but a service to support new mums during what can be a very stressful time.

The Bellyful service is free.

Bellyful Tauranga are hosting an information evening from 7.30pm on Friday, September 7, at Hotel Armitage, for people who are interested about volunteering or for those who want more information about the service.

If you're interested in attending, contact Bellyful Tauranga area coordinator Alaina parkinson on 021 126 1940 or email laina_04@hotmail.com
