Lock your car and leave valuables out of sight. File

A spate of car break-ins has police reminding drivers to lock cars and leave valuables out of sight.

Tauranga Senior Sergeant Cam Anderson said about eight cars were broken into across Tauranga during the weekend.

He said the common factors were valuables being left in plain sight and cars not being locked.

People should call the police if they see any suspicious behaviour, he said.
