Car rolled on SH36 in Mangorewa Gorge

A car has rolled on State Highway 36.

Emergency services are at the accident site and assisting the driver of the vehicle.

Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion said it appeared one person sustained minor injuries.

The accident was reported to police at 9.24am.

Mr Campion said the car was travelling through the Mangorewa Gorge on State Highway 36 when it rolled.

State Highway 36 is the road that travels between Tauranga and Rotorua.

Mr Campion was not sure which direction the car was travelling.
