UPDATED 12.15pm: A car has plunged more than 10 metres off a cliff.

Police and ambulance staff were called to the crash at the intersection of State Highway 29 and Poripori Rd.

The silver people mover landed drivers side down in a 30cm deep in a creek.

All three occupants were taken to Tauranga Hospital.

Police Northern Communications Centre Inspector Ian Brooker said it was believed a car had gone down a cliff about 11am.

He said three people were in the car and two had minor injuries.

One man had a cut to his head and another man was complaining of a sore head.
