Car and scooter collide in Bureta

A car and a scooter have collided on Ngatai Rd.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 11.30am.

Tauranga Senior Sergeant Glenn Saunders said a car and a scooter had collided. He said an elderly man was on the scooter and it was understood he had suffered a broken hip.

Police say that two tourists in a rental car pulled out in front of the scooter.

The accident happened near Bureta shops.
