A car full of teenagers rolled after it hit a bank on a rural Tauranga road this morning.

The car, driven by an 18-year-old male, hit a bank and rolled on Wainui South Rd.

Passengers in the car were not injuried in the accident.

A man is being treated by St John ambulance staff after a crash on Wainui South Rd this morning.

The crash happened about 11.25am.

Two fire trucks, police and an ambulance are at the scene.

A Bay of Plenty Times reporter at the scene said it appeared there was only one car involved in the crash.

It appeared the car had crashed into a bank and rolled. The male driver was the sole occupant of the car.

The road is blocked and emergency services are working to clear debris from the road.
