Prole back in court for murder
The 64-year-old Tauranga builder accused of murdering his wife whose body was lying near the entrance to her Judea home in late July has been deemed fit to stand trial.
Rex Leverett John Prole briefly reappeared in Tauranga District Court this morning.
His lawyer Glenn Dixon told Judge Peter Rollo that there were not matters arising from a second psychiatric report, but police had been granted an extension of time for the filing of the formal written statements. These statements are required before Prole can be formally committed to trial.
Judge Rollo further remanded Prole in custody pending a judicial intervention hearing on October 30.
