Another of the four men charged in relation to the serious assault of 44-year-old Gary Kimura at his Margaret Rd home last month has been back in court.

Police have launched a homicide investigation after Mr Kimura died from his injuries in Tauranga Hospital on November 16.

Jesse Hartley, 26, of Te Puke faced a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in Tauranga District Court yesterday.

He was further remanded on bail and is due back in court on December 15 along with the other three accused.

Detention for arm biter

A Te Puke woman who bit a constable on the arm while being processed for unlicensed driving has been sentenced to four months' home detention. Priscilla Gilbert, 47, who pleaded guilty to charges of assault with intent to injure, was sentenced in Tauranga District Court yesterday over the June 29 incident.
