Breakers point guard CJ Bruton will be the star attraction when what's left of the Auckland-based Aussie national league side rolls into Tauranga this week.

Bruton won't lace up his boots for the Breakers development team against the Bay of Plenty All Stars at the QEII Youth Centre on Thursday night, although the Aussie import will feature at three coaching clinics on Thursday afternoon and speak at a breakfast on Friday.

Tip-off for the Thursday game is 7pm, with entry $5 for adults and $2 for students.

The Breakers selection will include former Tall Black Paul Henare, Corey Webster and junior Tall Black Josh Bloxham, while the Damien Bennett-coached All Stars will be a mix of players from Waikato, Taupo and Tauranga.

The bulk of the Breakers roster is in Turkey playing for the Tall Blacks at the world champs.

Tauranga City Basketball general manager Mark Rogers said the Breakers' visit could be the start of close liaison between the city and the ANBL team.

"Because of the number of players away in Turkey they don't have the numbers to do team training, so they were keen to pick up a game for the guys that were left and we were keen to show them Tauranga is interested," Rogers said.

Bay of Plenty All Stars selection:

Ray Cameron (Waikato Pistons NBL), Puke Lenden (Waikato Pistons NBL), Matt Kendrick (Tauranga Boys' College old boys), Eru Wells (C3), Matt Fullerton (College old boys), Tane Bennett (College old boys), Jade Williams (College old boys), Daniel Kelly (A & J Demolition), four to be added.
