A teenage boy is in a serious condition in hospital after falling from the roof of a school last night.

A St John spokesperson said ambulance staff were called to Arataki Primary School on Kaimanawa St about 7pm last night.

He said a teenage boy was climbing on the roof of the school when he fell off.

The boy was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

A Tauranga Hospital spokesperson said a 14-year-old boy was brought in about 7pm last night and is now in a serious but stable condition in intensive care.
