Baby Sativa's battle ends

John Borren

Two-year-old Sativa Eagle passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer.

Mother Sheree Roose posted her final farewell on the Please help Baby Sativa & her Family fight Leukemia Facebook page.

"Sativa Ann Eagle....you are free my baby. Tiva passed away between me and my mum at 5:45 this morning. always in my heart and never forgotten. your legacy will live on my baby. i miss you so so much."

Sativa, a twin, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on January 5, 2011.

Since then she has had numerous rounds of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant.

She seemed to be recovering until three days before the girls' second birthday when the family was told the cancer was coming back at an alarming rate.

A second, desperate attempt at more bone marrow, also proved futile.

With a prognosis of only weeks to live, they took her home to die.
