Armed police swoop on car
Armed Police stopped a vehicle on Maunganui Rd and took the driver into custody about 1.30pm today.
Police Senior Sergeant Carl Purcell said the car was stopped between Hewletts and Girven Rds and took arrested the driver in relation to an incident earlier in the day concerning the possible use of a firearm.
He said enquiries concerning this matter were continuing.
