Tauranga Court House
Tauranga Court House File.

A Tauranga woman who attempted to hold-up a Mount Maunganui superette with a knife in March will be sentenced in November.

Cheyanne McCausland, 22, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault with intent to rob with an offensive weapon in Tauranga District Court earlier this week.

She was remanded in custody, and will be sentenced on November 5.

The charge relates to her entering the Arataki Superette around 3pm on March 31, approaching the female shop assistant and brandishing a knife at her.

When the shop assistant activated the store panic alarm McCausland ran off.

She later handed herself in at Papamoa Police Station.
