Sparkly clothes and props add to the fun of burlesque dancing.

THE Western Bay of Plenty's first burlesque workshop is coming to Tauranga on Saturday, to provide women, and men,
the opportunity to learn some cheeky dance moves in a fun environment.

The workshop, organised by the Belisha Dance Club, will be taught by Raven, a burlesque belly dancer based in Auckland.

Participants will spend three hours learning cheeky choreography, while learning to dance with props, such as high heels, feather boas and long gloves.

One of the organisers, Andria Goodliffe, said the Belisha Dance Club focused primarily on belly dancing but decided to host a burlesque workshop so people of the Western Bay of Plenty could experience something different.

She said several local women had shown their interest in the workshop and interest had come from  women in Auckland, who would be willing to travel down for the experience.
